During 2005 and 2006, I served as a community columnist for The Herald-Times (Bloomington, Indiana). My column ran bi-weekly on the editorial page. In 2007, the Indiana Society of Professional Journalists (ISPJ) awarded me 2nd place in their annual awards for Best Personal Columnist for columns that I wrote in 2006.
